Father God, my heart is filled with chaos and confusion...
Lift up your heart to the lord, for it is right to give him thanks and praise. Fear not the evils we are forced to do in the name of that which is good.
"Just don't talk like one of them. You're not! Even if you'd like to be. To them, you're just a freak, like me! They need you right now, but when they don't, they'll cast you out, like a leper! You see, their morals, their code, it's a bad joke. Dropped at the first sign of trouble. They're only as good as the world allows them to be. I'll show you. When the chips are down, these... these civilized people, they'll eat each other. See, I'm not a monster. I'm just ahead of the curve." -The Joker
Father, I thank you for blessing me with my family. I ask you to bring us into unity through You. I ask that anything that is hidden in darkness - to cause disunity - will be brought to light.
"The eldest among us would sell youth as some sort of shortcoming. Inexperience is somehow a concept that deserves condescension. But youth is a double edged sword. I may have much to learn, but I also have the capacity. Try and tell me you have the same you fucking crypt keeper." -Christian Flemming
I've heard all sorts of stories about licks that get brought into this world gently, with great care and foresight via powerful benefactors that push the concept of immortality better than any Kirby salesman ever could. I also hear stories of those who are brought kicking and screaming into this world. Against their better judgement and encased in fear. They are tortured and belittled until they are subservient, as if any lick has any reason to feel like a big man by tormenting a mortal. My story is somewhere in the middle. I wont go so far as to say my sire was psychotic, or even crazed. He was calm and purposeful. He had a goal when he brought me into this world. But what the fuck that goal was I may never know. With his passing I would love to be able to move forward and just help my fellow kindred. Find some sort of reasonable middle ground that keeps us all alive, and happy. I have all sorts of things I'd like. I just wish I'd been given the tools to pursue them, instead of those for wholesale slaughter.
Now don't get me wrong. I can tell you a sad tale about how hard my life has been these last few years. I could tell you how hard my sire was on me, how uncaring, callous, and sometimes cruel. Sure. But the second he introduced me to the Abyss, well, none of that mattered anymore. I've tried to explain it to people before. Tried to give them a real picture of what I've seen, and how it's made me feel. But there's nothing like it. Man, you've just gotta try it.
Hello darkness, my old friend I've come to talk with you again Because a vision softly creeping Left its seeds while I was sleeping
And the vision that was planted in my brain Still remains Within the sound of silence
— S&G - Sound of Silence
Nothing about Christian really makes sense. The angles of his face are a little too angular, the length of his arms a little too long. You could describe him as lanky. At second glance his skin seems pale as one would expect, but its more porcelain smooth than the average kindred. He is constantly rocking an 80's era t'shirt in teal or black. Anything from Saved by the Bell and Miami Vice, to original Nirvana concert T's. But the part that truly sets him apart and makes him stand out as alien is his eyes. On good days his cornea and pupil become one in a solid black, on other days his entire eye pupil and all shines in a brilliant red. Both look distinctly off putting for completely different reasons.
"Interesting. The previous Prince of this area was young and, apparently, incompetent. Now, the current Anarch Advocate is young and, apparently, quite competent. It's a shame how things get flipped, sometimes." — Gereon d'Aquitaine "I like him. He's practical, easy to deal with, and seems to do a good job looking after his gang, and the Anarch part of the city. And, not afraid of an adventure! With someone like me! I feel a little braver when he is nearby." — Brenda Bittersea "Forceful and intelligent, like his maker. Alas that Amadeo did not succeed in teaching him cruelty." — Valrbjørn "Anyone still struggling with the concept that age and wisdom are not the same thing should meet my gangmate. I'm old enough to be his grandma, but I'd rather have him leading Free Seattle any time. And the way he codeswitches between talking to Cammie elders and talking to us is something to behold." — Jo Harris "Christian gave me a home when I wasn't sure I deserved one, when I'd made a horrible mistake. It's something I will never forget, and forever be grateful for" — Avery Barnes "Your quote here." — Character name
