"We cannot be more sensitive to pleasure without being more sensitive to pain." -Alan Watts
Sect: Camarilla Clan: Toreador Social Class: Neonate Title: Whip of Clan Toreador
Drystan appears to be a nineteen year old with a shaved head, dark brown hair & eyes, a small goatee, a septum ring and several tattoos. Often mistaken for human, he rarely has problems fitting in on the streets of Boston, a city with so many college students living in it. Known to carry Tarot Cards, he has given eerily accurate readings for people and has referred to himself as an 'Oracle' or a 'Prophet of Pain'.
Cast out onto the streets as a teenager, Drystan left his mark on the City with elaborate Graffiti Creations. He also began reading tarot for spare change on the streets. In the Summer of 1999 Drystan caught the attention of the kindred who would soon become his sire. Embraced during the madness of a Y2K celebration the Toreador Blood bestowed upon him the Artist's Blessing and caused his Oracular Ability to blossom. Soon after his embrace he found that he could instill lasting emotions in his street art.
Drystan's sire is unknown, but he has claimed membership in House Friday.
"I'm surprised that I've survived my own dysfunction, really." -George Michael

"Yo.. Oprah said 'Turn your wounds into wisdom.' So don't get mad at those that hurt you, thank them for the gift of wisdom." -- Drystan
"Edgar Allen Poe said.. 'I have absolutely no pleasure in the stimulants in which I sometimes so madly indulge. It has not been in the pursuit of pleasure that I have periled life and reputation and reason. It has been the desperate attempt to escape from torturing memories, from a sense of insupportable loneliness and a dread of some strange impending doom.'.. You claim that whole Tortured Artiste thing is so last year.. but sometimes, hell almost all the time.. Real Art IS torture." -- Drystan
"I'm pretty sure I'm a Titanium homo. Titanium is more expensive than platinum for wedding rings & shit, right? If not, I'm whatever that is.. I mean I'm so gay I don't even eat women." -- Drystan
"He's like an actual Tortured artist.. like literally Tortured. ....I think I'm in love, or at least Serious Like." -- Drystan
"#DRILLIAN 4 Ever!" -- Drystan
Quotes about Drystan
"Of Drystan, I shall say only this. 'Never regret thy fall, O Icarus of the fearless flight, for the greatest tragedy of them all, is never to feel the burning light.' If you do not understand, seek the body of his work, and strive, yourself, for the light." - Elder Aynesworth
"I'm not like sure he's that lucky, but like his clanmates like certainly are, that he's as like charming as he is." -- Karma
"Dude, chilling with Drystan is basically the best thing about being a Vampire" -- Faith
"Many Toreador would rather you see the rose than the thorns. Drystan's approach is one that underscores the truth, that paints pain in sharp relief rather than gilding over it. Such honesty among the Camarilla is an artform all its own, and I do hope that he is given the time he needs to explore beyond the thorns." - Dottie Youngblood
The Tarot Images on this page are taken from the Urban Tarot by Robin Scott. The deck is amazing, and the artwork is incredible. I was fortunate to be one of the kickstarters of this deck - as of now the deck has completely sold out, however US Games has picked it up for a 2nd edition and you can sign up at Robin's site for release information!
