"Just a heads up: We're gonna have a superconductor turned up full blast and pointed at you for the duration of this next test. I'll be honest, we're throwing science at the wall here to see what sticks. No idea what it'll do. Probably nothing. Best-case scenario, you might get some superpowers. Worst case, some tumors, which we'll cut out." - Cave Johnson, Portal
Faraday is a mysterious spitfire of a mage, equal parts savagely smart and totally reckless. He has bleach-blonde hair with a red streak, one blue eye and one brown eye, and nerdy glasses. A theoretical physicist by past profession, he's finding a lot of his skills to be somewhat irrelevant now that he's lost his tenure. He's only recently settled on Wayfinder Station, but steadily making a name for himself as a low-key 'guy who knows a guy', provider of goods and services - usually the bookkeeper for his roommate and junk dealer Rictus. Gotta make a living somehow!
He was born on the Core Worlds as the sole heir to a rather rich family, and made them extremely proud with his 200+ IQ. He was in college by his mid teens, and graduating with multiple degrees and flying colours - by his twenties, he was a professor of theoretical physics, and made a decent name for himself in scientific circles publishing a few controversial papers on the movements of distant quasars. Only, of course, to have that all ripped away the moment he Awakened; no one's really sure how, where, what happened, and he doesn't like to talk about it.
He's been spotted in random places throughout the Expanse and Verge for the last ten years or so (or seven? or five? - no one really knows). Always pleasant and chatty, he wavers between appearing completely vapid and clueless and solving every problem. Difficult to figure out what he's really thinking.

"Let's have fun. Y'know. For science." - Prin Dawnbright

"The presence of pain is a reminder of a time of good, the void only knows emptiness. One day there will be a galaxy where pain isn't so great we embrace the void, and I hope Faraday is there to come back to the light." - Diamond
"Faraday is one of the only magic folk that walks the walk when they talk about exploring the unknown and not fearing what isn't understood. It gets him into trouble... Frequently... There's usually teeth and or bullets. Faraday isn't boring is what I'm saying..." Magnus
"I don't care what he does as long as he washes his hands before he touches anything on my ship." - Mont-E
"Quote here." - Your Name
They say the Mercenary Union has had contracts out on him before, and he's slipped every one.
Someone told me he's actually doing some highly illegal experiments on the down low.
I think he's actually an impostor; he killed the real Professor Faraday and he's a not-so-smart clone.
He's actually one of the smartest people in the galaxy, and acts an idiot to mislead folks.
