Physical Description

Gutka’s body is a hunched, salt encrusted carcass with rotten hair that slinks about in the shadows. Whatever she looked like in life is lost to time and the curse of her blood.

Brief History

Long before mankind recorded its history, an aged priestess of the Dark Mother dragged her dying body into the forest and prayed to her Goddess for release from life. Instead, her prayers brought her Baba Yaga who granted her eternity, and Gutka, already senile and easily confused, believed the Dark Mother had chosen her to become an avatar for the people to worship. Taking shelter in the caves below Wawel Hill, she lived for millennia before entering the long sleep of torpor in caves of salt deep beneath the earth. Awakening in the 9th century, Gutka thirsted as never before and found that only Kindred vitae could sustain her. Embracing, questioning, and then consuming hapless miners, she preserved their remains in the salt of her mines while learning about the world around her. She cared little for the doings of other vampires in the city that had grown above her, yet nonetheless listened to their every secret until the 16th century when she simply seemed to tire of the mines. Leaving her subterranean lair, she traveled to Russia, where she shared the knowledge she had gathered until the 18th century, when it was rumored that she was living in the warrens beneath St. Petersburg.

Current Status

Gutka’s precise whereabouts are unknown but she has begun to reach out to her wayward Childer with requests for repayment for her mercy so many years ago.

Lineage Criteria

Time Frame for Embraces: 200 BCE to 600 CE, 1200 CE to 1400 CE Requirements:

  • PC Sects/Factions: Any.
  • Path: Any.
  • Skills: Two of the following at 3+: Awareness, Dodge, Occult, Performance, or Stealth
  • Special: The PC’s embrace should have been one of terror and blood in which the PC was brought to some cave and their survival and embrace was dependent on their ability to plead for mercy. The prideful were consumed immediately after the embrace. The humble (and useful) are allowed to play out their unlives.
