Husayn Al Fatin
Husayn Al Fatin
Husayn is a handsome young Arab male who appears to have spent time in the sun working. His hands are calloused and skin seems dry. Husayn wears a red thawb and a simple white head scarf. He smells like horses.
As a mortal, Husayn belonged to an Arabian horse rearing tribe. He grew up among horses and loved the camaraderie, fun, and sport they provided. He was never more at home than when he was traveling the country with his friends, showing horses. It is unclear how Thetmes picked Husayn for the embrace. Perhaps it was on the suggestion of an oracle. Nothing in this sportsman's background suggested skill at arms or willingness to kill. In 78 CE, at an Arabian horse show, as the audience was finishing up the camel that had roasted all day, Thetmes embraced Husayn, a shy, humane, friendly soul. Thetmes did not train his new student, but left him at Alamut while he went about his missions.
Adrift in this macabre unlife full of blood lusting fiends, Husayn shattered his family idols, little clay toy soldiers that he cast off the side of the fort. He was unable to reconcile the taking of life and the cannibalism of blood drinking with the morals of his human life. It seemed that his embrace might fail and he might not make it.
Sayeh saw this act, and knew someone would have to step in. Sayeh convinced her sire (the Caliph) to bring the first horses to Alamut. She tasked Husayn with caring for them. She told him though, that there would not be enough resources for the horses, and that he would have to hunt. Sayeh brought Husayn into the mountains to watch mountain cats hunt at night. She taught him that the Path of Caine she followed saw those under them as family, like lion cubs. The horses would need resources. The clan would need resources. It was best to emulate the predator, just as in nature.
Husayn was a fine student. Whatever oracle or reason that lead Thetmes to choose Husayn proved correct. Few people are as responsible for the iconic stereotypes about Assamites as Husayn. Many Assamites have gone on diplomatic missions all across the world, but they did not leave the same mark as two thousand years of assassinations committed by Husayn. Husayn is also a prolific sire, with many childer. He rose through the ranks of the Web of Knives and is today the second in command.
Husayn has been one of the most active and prolific assassins in the world for two thousand years. He has remained loyal to Alamut and is seeking out the help of Sayeh once more to transition from the path of Caine to Blood.
