Maebh is a dark haired woman of average height with sharp Celtic features that could be equally described as beautiful and unnerving. Her body is honed by years of conflict, and her attire is stark and utilitarian, chosen for survival in whatever environment she is in. Various runic tattoos of indeterminate origin line her wrists and collarbone, and her eyes are unnaturally pale. She is known to take the forms of a raven or a ravenous wolf.
Maebh is one of the oldest remaining childer of the Celtic Methuselah known only as “The Morrigan.” Maebh’s sire had long influenced the whole of Ireland, having used Maebh, her brood-mates, and their childer as guardians and messengers. In the 5th century CE, The Morrigan herself became tormented by visions of a new religion (Christianity) overtaking the whole of Ireland, and so she submitted to ritual diablerie by one of her other childer. Suddenly a warrior with no general, Maebh wandered and searched for purpose, only Embracing the strongest and most cunning warriors to preserve their spirit and claim their service as she had done for her Sire. Over time, her scope expanded into Scotland and Britain as Roman invaders and later Viking longships drew her attention. Accounts throughout the Jyhad place her at varying conflicts, vampire and mortal alike, as a singularly deadly force, seeking to find meaning with each test and battle.
She has been reported as passing through the United States heading East from the Rockies and disappearing again into the Appalachian Mountains. Nearly every major conflict between vampires in the past century has a story about how she appeared, fought, and disappeared, but none have been substantiated.
