Marcella of Naples
Marcella of Naples
A woman of Italian heritage, Marcella has a fair face and a disarming smile. She carries herself with a great deal of poise and grace but is always wary of those around her.
Marcella was born to a Roman noble family in what would one day become Naples but little else is known of her mortal life. During the reign of Antonius she did well for herself but when he was betrayed to the Fourth Council, Marcella’s loyalty was seen as a threat and she was cast out. During the War of the Princes, Marcella reclaimed her lost Dignitas as she supported Lord Jurgen’s plans in Eastern Europe against the Voivodate. When he failed, Marcella was again disgraced. During the Anarch Revolt, Marcella survived despite many attacks by Anarchs, no few of which were thinly veiled assassination attempts by her enemies. After the founding of the Camarilla, Marcella was positioned to become one of the second Justicars but was outmaneuvered at the last moment. For the next few centuries, Marcella disappeared and did not reappear until the Red Star shone bright in the sky. Marcella began making daring moves during this uncertain time and was making gains that her contemporaries did not expect. Hardestadt’s and Jan Pieterzoon’s positions were the most hurt by Marcella’s recent success and it was an open secret that she had drawn their ire one too many times. Many waited for the death stroke from these two powerful elders but Marcella seemed strangely calm about the unfolding events. Then the unthinkable happened, Hardestadt and Jan Pieterzoon met final death themselves. No one can prove her involvement but many suspect that she somehow pulled off what was thought to be impossible.
Marcella, whose political career was a series of disasters until recently, is enjoying unparalleled success within the clan. She has survived the centuries and been beaten over and over again but never stays down. In the final round, she seems to be making a comeback and many are at a loss to explain her success.
