In the beginning, she had it all. The sole daughter of a Russian Oligarch, private education, born and bred to be a perfect companion to a man of her Elders choosing. Hers was a charmed life, marked by an unshakable constancy to Family, House, and Tribe. At the age of 19, she was chosen to be the second wife to a widowed Scion of House Crescent Moon with a now-motherless newborn daughter, a role which she took to as if it were the most natural thing in the world, and quickly grew to love a husband who was much her senior.
Despite her genial nature and desire to find her place within her new family, she was rejected by the Elder's older children who felt that she had encroached upon their father before their mother's corpse was even cold. Isolated and alone, Dezha poured her heart into raising her infant step-daughter as though she were her own - in eager anticipation for the day that she, too, would bear more children - as well as supporting her husband politically in any way she could.
However, that was not meant to be. In close to twenty years of marriage, Dezha's marriage proved fruitless and her usefulness was dwindling and it began to put a wedge between Dezha and Victor. Divorce was never considered an option until tragedy struck: Dezha was attacked by an enemy of House Crescent Moon and was infected by the Wyld Plague, becoming one of The Bitten.
Afterward, it was only a matter of time and diplomacy before she was set aside as being unfit to be wed to a scion of House Crescent Moon.
Once nothing more than than a powerless bystander, the threads of fate that were pulled altered the tapestry of Dezha's life and transformed her into a force to be reckoned with. Woe be unto those who dare to come against the future King, for they will have to make it through his former consort first.
“We ruined each other by being together. We destroyed each other’s dreams.”
"She once tried to take the place of my mother. Her whiles and beauty distracted my father from the game. Fate has a strange way of settling such matters. Now she is no longer a distraction, rather another beneficial tool towards that end." — Aleksei Gagarin
"Dezha is a wonderful woman and her dedication to to my father is deserving nothing shy of sainthood. Moya has taken a personal tragedy and used it to make gold from lead; I have immense respect for that spirit she has shown in the face of this hardship. She is among my pack and family once more. I only hope one day we can discover the one responsible for her transformation though, so that I may speak to with him personally." — Gregori "Greg" Garren
"Some may call her an enabler, but giving alcohol to underage minors isn't really that big of a deal. She just let me experience life earlier. It's a cruel world out there, and you have to make sure you don't grow up sheltered. It helps to have family that understands this." — Berlin Kensington
"She showed me how to sharpen the sword I had not realized I carried - a sword forged from Words and Wit. She showed me the armor I had never seen before - worn invisibly, shaped by my Will, and strong enough to turn the cruelest blow. More importantly, she taught me to see these hidden blades and suits of armor on others as she had seen them on me - a lesson only learned by fire, and one for which I am forever in her debt." — Reverie Jones
"The minute I saw her I knew she was going to put me in a corner at some point. It didn't take long." - Heath Evan Grayson
"Dezha is the closest thing to a mother I've had. She always welcomes me with warm food and a cold drink when I come home, along with word of what's next for our family." - Renee Garren
"She brought me back from the brink of far worse things than a painful death. Dezha is...well, she'll always be special to me." - Garrett Walsh
"Few have command of their homes when guests are visiting and violence happens, controlled events or unplanned. She did such and kept the gathered from erupting into warfare between houses. Respect to one that can manage that many oversized egos." - Amasis Sabry
"Galliards like Nadezha Morena's Lament are the bedrock of the Silver Fang Tribe, but holding up the weight of a great castle can be tiring even when one is bolstered by ancient dignity. The pain of that burden is even greater when so many insist on providing scandals to batter the walls rather than legends with which to build the towers." - Ambrose Silverheart
"Nadezhda is a phenomenal woman from everything I have seen of her. She has been through trials that would crush others, and yet she pushes forward. I don't envy the hand she has been dealt throughout her life, and yet I hope that I can live up to be even half the woman I see in her. I wouldn't recommend getting on her bad side, though." - Madison Walsh
"'Morena's Lament' is among my favorite of the young Galliards. She expresses herself better with a glance and a sigh than some Athro. Perhaps it is because she is a living tale of woe that she understands so well." - Duskcaller
"'Dez, Days, Nada... Oh you mean Dizzy! She's fun, well until she goes into that whole I need to talk to a manager mode. That's when you just sort of disappear until the storm is over." - Charlie Riley
"She will speak her mind, without fear or hesitation. She knows the purpose she has been born to and embodies that. Do her words make you uncomfortable? Good. Then learn the lesson and do not shy from them." -Alistair Cross
