Schaefer was born in 1970 in Chicago, IL. She grew up with a constant sense of overwhelming fear. Someday, she thought, someone was going to jump her in a dark alley and kill her. As she grew older, she never was able to shake that fear, so she began taking self-defense classes. Then more classes. Then some specialized martial arts classes. And she became really good at hand-to-hand combat. She joined the Army for a few years. She got married. She had a baby. And one spring night, as she was taking the garbage to the curb, a man jumped her in the dark and killed her.
Steve was a crap Sire. He was seeking soldiers: mindless automatons who would kill when told, follow orders, never talk back, and exist purely to further the cause of the Sword. Schaefer refused to live up to a single one of Steve's expectations. Oh, don't misunderstand - she followed orders, she did her training, she went through all the motions, but...her Embrace had stolen something from her, some spark, and Steve was patently unable to reignite it. Finally, in disgust, Steve handed Schaefer off to an unruly Pack of Sabbat misfits and washed his hands of her. And suddenly, Schaefer thrived.
Now, Schaefer is the Priest of her pack, a small group of Sabbat Kindred who are well known as incredibly effective problem-solvers, when they're not being mouthy snarks.
- It's said that shortly after entering the San Marcos Diocese, Schaefer began having visions of a world on fire beneath the sword of caine.
